Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
