Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the initial names in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday following the team's 10-match without a victory start to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the team - are part of the names to be evaluated by the club ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would pose a potential obstacle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the ex- Luton Town manager - who made over a century of appearances for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a leading contender for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they start the process of appointing a new head coach.

O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected candidate, although he would be a shock choice considering he was released by the club in December last year.

The ex- West Ham player is currently unemployed which means Wolves would not be required to pay any buyout fee.
