Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the jet's front window, per an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane ferrying a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
