Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
