Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans shared its support for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
